PCNV – Lent and Easter through a Progressive Lens

The Progressive Christian Network of Victoria Inc and Heartwell bring you:

Lent and Easter through a Progressive Lens

……..the tomb in which the crucified Jesus had been laid was found empty. He had risen from the dead…….

As Good Friday and Easter approaches, it is timely to reflect on the 2000 year old story.

  • What was the economic , social and political climate at the time?
  • What is the biblical explanation of Lent?
  • Does Lent have a modern purpose?
  • With whom and why did the Jesus message resonate so strongly?
  • Why did the establishment believe that Jesus was a threat?
  • Why crucifixion and not a proper burial?
  • Are the writings of the New Testament an accurate record?
  • How did the Disciples continue on – undeterred?
  • Can we tap into their faith that forms the foundation of 21st Century Christianity?
