The bread will be broken,
and in its breaking
the whole of nature speaks—
wheat from the field,
sunlight stored in grain,
rainfall, soil, and farmer’s hands,
all threads in God’s great tapestry.

The cup will be lifted,
and in its crimson depth
we taste the vine’s long story—
roots reaching through earth,
seasons of growth,
labor of harvest,
the laughter of friends who shared the pressing.

In this holy meal
we do not transcend the world—
we enter more deeply into it.
Every particle of matter we will consume
every trembling note of life,
is part of the living consciousness of God.

The bread carries memory,
the grape feeds the seeds of life,
and as we taste,
we are drawn into the great communion
that binds earth and life,
water and air,
and our own fragile hearts—
all gathered in the divine embrace.

Here,
in the breaking and the pouring,
we discover the truth:
God is incarnate in the earth
God is the Life within life,
the Mind within matter,
the energy that flows
through every thread of creation.

And as we eat,
as we drink,
our eyes are nourished and opened—
to see this world as it is:
a universe alive with God,
and we will taste the presence of God
in a communion without end.
